Obverse description The Michigan state coat of arms in high relief at center, featuring a shield supported by an elk and a moose, surmounted by an eagle on a crest with a scroll bearing the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. The motto TUEBOR appears on the shield and CIRCUMSPICE below it, flanked by the date 19-33. The surrounding legend reads MICHIGAN at top and A CENTURY OF PROGRESS EXPOSITION around the lower periphery, separated by two small stars.
