| Obverse description | Central field depicts the Virgin Mary (Beata Maria) standing in full relief, holding a scepter in her left hand and the Christ Child on her right arm, the Child shown with a halo. Flanking inscriptions in the field read 'BEATA MARI' split to either side of the figure. The design is based on the medieval town seal of Skänninge, enclosed by a beaded inner ring and a circular legend between a beaded ring and a solid outer ring. |
