Obverse description Central field displays a relief icon of Saints Sergius and Bacchus depicted as mounted soldiers carrying standards, rendered in the style of a traditional Eastern icon. The design is encircled by a Kufic Arabic frieze and an inner band bearing a Syriac legend in Estrangela script (Psalm 116:15). The dates 297 and 1997 appear in the lower exergue flanked by crosses.

Reverse description Central field presents a detailed perspective relief of the Martyrdom Church (Basilica of Saint Sergius) at Resafa, Syria, shown in three-quarter aerial view with its characteristic octagonal nave and flanking towers. The church is framed by a wreath of laurel branches in relief. An Arabic and Syriac legend encircles the border, with the inscription identifying the site below the church in the lower field.
