Reverse description A helmeted Roman warrior in mourning stance leans against a tall funerary pedestal surmounted by a decorative urn, with a sword held loosely at his side and his head resting on one hand. The pedestal bears an inscribed panel with Byron's birth and death dates, and the word MISSOLONGHI appears in the exergue below. The circumferential Latin legend is divided around the upper field.
