Obverse description A winged allegorical female figure in high relief, holding a trumpet and a torch, soaring above a panoramic view of the fortified city of Szeged. The date of liberation, 1686 OKTÓBER 23, is inscribed in the field to the left, with the engraver's initials FM to the right. A decorative scroll cartouche at the bottom bears the city name SZEGED.

Reverse description The reverse features the crowned coat of arms of Szeged at centre, flanked by crossed cannons, flags, weapons and military trophies in relief. Below, within an ornate cartouche, a multi-line Hungarian inscription attributed to the chronicler Tinódi is rendered in stylised lettering. The issuer and year MÉE 1986 appear at the bottom of the field.
