| Obverse description | The obverse depicts a high-relief bust of Alexander the Great facing right, wearing a laureate helmet and classical drapery, set on a plinth. Behind the effigy, the ornate wrought-iron fence and gate of the Summer Garden in Leningrad are rendered in low relief, with trees flanking both sides. The legend АЛЕКСАНДР МАКЕДОНСКИЙ appears in the lower exergue, with the engraver's signature С. ИВАНОВ to the left and the LMD mint mark to the right. |
