The legend ПЕТРОПАВЛОВСКАЯ КРЕПОСТЬ curves along the upper rim and ЛЕНИНГРАД along the lower rim.

Reverse description A bird's-eye plan view of the star-shaped fortification layout of the Peter and Paul Fortress rendered in bold relief, with six pointed bastions clearly delineated. At the centre of the fortress plan, the Peter and Paul Cathedral with its distinctive spire is depicted in miniature relief against a stippled field. The founding date 1703 appears within the lower portion of the fortress plan. The mint mark ЛМД and the engraver's signature И.КОМШИЛОВ are inscribed in small text at the lower right of the field.
