Obverse description The obverse depicts, in high relief, an allegorical female figure seated on a stepped pedestal at right, holding aloft a laurel wreath in her raised right hand and resting her left hand on a shield bearing the monogram 'RF'. Before her stand three male figures: a soldier in uniform with a rifle, a fencer, and an athlete bending forward with a cannonball at his feet. The circular legend runs along the rim.

Reverse description The reverse features a central blank cartouche-shaped shield surrounded by a symmetrical arrangement of military and sporting emblems in high relief, including crossed rifles, a sword, a target, a boxing glove, and shot-put balls at the base. An olive branch is displayed to the left and an oak branch to the right. The legend 'VILLE DE COURBEVOIE' arcs along the upper rim, with the date '1896' at the base and the publisher's signature at lower right.
