Reverse description A profile view of the French light cruiser La Galissonnière steaming to the right on stylised waves, with billowing smoke rising from her funnels and superstructure rendered in fine relief. The upper field bears the legend MARINE NATIONALE FRANÇAISE in an arc, while the lower half of the field, separated by a horizontal line, contains a multi-line inscription recording the ship's launch at Brest on 18 November 1933, flanked by decorative anchored cross motifs, with the engraver's name GEORGES RIDET and the date 1934 in the exergue.
