Reverse description The full heraldic achievement of Newfoundland occupies the centre of the field, featuring a quartered shield flanked by two armoured human supporters, each holding a spear, with a caribou as crest above. A scroll beneath the shield bears the motto QUAERITE PRIME REGNUM DEI. The legend NEWFOUNDLAND curves along the upper border and CORONATION 1937 along the lower, separated by pellets.
