| Reverse description | A standing crowned feminine personification of Romania in high relief, raising a palm frond in her right hand and holding the heraldic shield of Romania in her left, accompanied by a seated lion to her left and military trophies including a cannon and drum to her right. The central composition is encircled by a laurel wreath interlaced with ribbons bearing the motto NIHIL SINE DEO, the years 1877, 1881 and 1889, and the names of battles from the Romanian War of Independence. The date 1877 appears at the bottom of the field. |
