Obverse description Left-facing bust of Leif Tronstad in military uniform occupies the left portion of the field, with his name inscribed along the left rim. To the right, a composite scene depicts commandos on skis descending a mountain slope, the Vemork heavy water plant perched on a cliff, and a paddle steamer on the lake below. The legend arcs along the upper rim, and the mint mark appears in the lower exergue.

Reverse description Central design features a large Victory V-symbol in bold relief, upon which the crowned Norwegian lion rampant is superimposed.
