Obverse description The obverse depicts in high relief a procession of Ethiopian Jewish immigrants journeying toward Jerusalem, shown in the upper left field as a classical temple structure amid clouds. At the forefront, a father cradles an infant in his arms, his face expressing suffering and resolve, while a long column of figures stretches behind him into the distance. The bilingual legend curves along the left and upper rim.

Reverse description The reverse presents a richly detailed scene of Ethiopian Jewish village life in high relief, featuring a central synagogue adorned with a Star of David, traditional thatched-roof dwellings, ceremonial vessels and pottery in the lower field, and a Kes (religious leader) in traditional dress and turban holding a sacred text at right. Figures atop a rooftop and a ritual bath structure appear in the upper field, flanked by decorative zigzag borders at left and right. A Hebrew legend curves along the upper rim and a Ge'ez (Ethiopic script) prayer inscription runs along the lower rim.
