Obverse description The obverse features a prominent bust of Zalman Shazar in the lower left foreground, depicted wearing glasses and a suit. Behind him, in high relief, are multiple vignettes: a figure at a podium flanked by a menorah and architectural elements resembling the Western Wall, a second standing figure in a hat, and a bust of a historical figure in period dress at lower right. The engraver's initials OH EL appear in the right field.

Reverse description The reverse displays the name ZALMAN SHAZAR prominently at the top within a recessed panel, beneath which a large inscribed text block fills the field with a biographical legend in raised capital letters. The design is entirely typographic with no figurative elements.
