Obverse description The obverse depicts a detailed panoramic view of the city of Gdansk (Gedanum) in high relief, with a double-headed eagle carrying an olive branch descending from rays of divine light emanating from a crowned monogram above. Clouds flank the eagle on either side, and the cityscape extends across the lower field with ships visible on the water.
