Reverse description The matte black field bears the name RINZO MAMIYA in large raised lettering across the upper portion, below which a five-line inscription in the field reads: In 1808 he conducted the first Japanese overseas exploration and proved that Sakhalin was an island. The border features a prominent struck sawtooth or sunburst decorative rim pattern. A small Franklin Mint mintmark appears at the bottom of the field.
