Obverse description Three portrait busts in high relief: Ludvig Holberg (top, in period wig, facing right) within a circular frame, Henrik Ibsen (lower left, bearded, facing right) and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson (lower right, facing left), each labelled with their name. Between the busts, allegorical figures in relief — a seated female holding a mirror, a female with a mask, and a male figure with a harp — among palm fronds and roots. The engraver's signature 'Iv. THRONDSEN F.' appears at the bottom. A circular legend surrounds the entire composition along the rim.
