| Obverse description | Large high-relief bust of King Khalid bin Abdulaziz wearing a traditional keffiyeh, facing slightly left, dominating the field. Arabic legend arcs around the upper portion of the medal, with the Saudi Arabian emblem (crossed swords and palm tree) flanking the dates on each side at centre.
