Obverse description Full-length effigies of King Stephen I (Stephanus Rex) and Queen Gisela (Gisela Regina) in royal regalia, with a smaller crowned figure between them holding an orb. The dates 1038 and 1988 appear in the left field, commemorating the 950th anniversary of King Stephen's death. The legend ÉREMGYŰJTŐK CS·M·SZERV· appears in the lower field, with the engraver's initials FM in the lower right.

Reverse description The reverse depicts the relic of the Holy Right Hand of Saint Stephen, shown as a mummified hand adorned with jewelled rings and bracelets in high relief. The date 1988 szeptember 24-25 appears at the top of the field.
