Obverse description The obverse depicts a high-relief scene of King George III seated at a table, raising his right fist defiantly while signing a document with his left hand, flanked by two standing attendants in 18th-century military dress. The lower portion of the field is divided by a horizontal table line, below which the legend and date appear in relief. The inscription KING GEORGE III PROCLAIMS REBELLION 1775 is incused in the lower register.
