Obverse description High-relief depiction in the field of a winged griffin attacking a prostrate deer, rendered in a granulated, dotted texture characteristic of early medieval Bulgarian goldsmith work. The design faithfully reproduces a motif from the Nagy Szent Miklós (Nagi Saint Miklosh) Treasure. No legend or lettering is present.

Reverse description The flat field carries seven lines of raised Cyrillic text arranged in three grouped blocks, centered, against a plain background. The inscription identifies the piece as a medallion from the gold treasure of Nagy Szent Miklós, issued by the National Museum of Old Bulgarian Art of the 9th century.
