Obverse description Bare-headed bust of John Flaxman in left-facing profile, with flowing shoulder-length hair, in high relief against a flat field. The name FLAXMAN appears vertically in the right field, and the engraver's signature D.W. BAILEY R.A.D. is inscribed along the lower truncation. The bust is contained within a raised inner border surrounded by a continuous wreath of small leaves.
