Obverse description Bare-headed bust of George IV in left-facing profile, hair elaborately styled in curls and bound by a ribbon tied at the back of the head in a bow. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail. A partial Greek legend runs around the border of the field.

Reverse description Central design features an ornate trident with elaborate acanthus scroll decoration entwined about its shaft, rising from a stylised base above wave motifs. Two dolphins are arranged symmetrically on either side, their tails raised outward. Greek letters appear in the lower field flanking the trident handle.
