THIRD runs around the circumference between two beaded borders. Laurel sprigs appear at the base of the bust, with the engraver's initials T.P.F. below.

Reverse description A winged Victory standing in three-quarter view, draped and semi-nude, inscribing a shield on a pedestal with the names COOTE and STEEVENS. She is flanked by two tall palm trees with cannon barrels at their bases. INDVS appears to the left and GANGES to the right of the central figure. The circular legend reads TOTAL . EXPVLSION . OF . THE . FRENCH . FROM . INDIA, with PONDICHERRY TAKEN and the date MDCCLXI in the exergue, all within a beaded border.
