Obverse description Bare-headed bust of George, Prince of Wales facing left in high relief, with curled hair. Below the truncation, a decorative spray of shamrock, rose, and thistle is rendered in fine detail. The circular legend reads HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS GEORGE PRINCE OF WALES, with the engravers' signatures T. WYON F. and P. ROUW D. inscribed in the lower exergue.

Reverse description The Prince of Wales, robed and in regalia, is depicted seated upon an ornate throne at centre, flanked by Justice to his left holding scales and a sword, with a British lion couchant at her feet, and Britannia to his right holding a spear and resting her hand upon a shield. The upper legend arcs around the scene, while the date in Roman numerals occupies the lower field in two lines. Engravers' initials F.W.IU. and D.R.F. are visible at the base of the composition.
