Obverse description Right-facing bust of George, Prince Regent, wearing richly decorated armour with lion-head shoulder ornaments and a laurel wreath in his hair, rendered in high relief. The surrounding legend curves around the upper and lower fields, with the name GEORGE PRINCE REGENT along the lower portion. The maker's name is engraved in small letters at the base of the bust.

Reverse description A finely engraved panoramic battle scene depicting the bombardment of Algiers, with multiple warships under full sail exchanging fire amid billowing clouds of smoke, the fortified city and coastline visible in the background. Below a horizontal rule, a rectangular exergue contains a four-line inscription recording the event, with the date AUG 27, the name EXMOUTH flanked by decorative scrollwork, and the year 1816. The engraver's signature T. WYON. S. appears at the lower left of the scene.
