Obverse description A semi-draped allegorical female figure, representing Britannia, reclines in the field leaning against the Royal Arms shield to the left, with a bishop's mitre and crozier on an altar to the right and one arm raised. The legend SPES PVBLICA arcs along the upper border. The engraver's initials T·P·F· appear on the altar in the lower right.

Reverse description The reverse bears an entirely epigraphic design with a circular legend around the border and eight lines of Latin text filling the field, all in capital letters, recording the postulation of Frederick as Bishop of Osnabrück on 27 February 1764 by consent of King George III.
