| Obverse description | Two standing female figures, representing Britannia (left) and Hibernia (right), face one another and jointly clasp a fasces entwined with an olive branch, set before a pyramid. At lower left rests a Union shield and cornucopia; at lower right kneels a small winged figure with a harp, symbolising Ireland. The engraver's signature HANCOCK appears in the lower field, and the date 1800 is inscribed in the exergue. |
