Obverse description Two standing female figures, representing Britannia (left) and Hibernia (right), face one another and jointly clasp a fasces entwined with an olive branch, set before a pyramid. At lower left rests a Union shield and cornucopia; at lower right kneels a small winged figure with a harp, symbolising Ireland. The engraver's signature HANCOCK appears in the lower field, and the date 1800 is inscribed in the exergue.

Reverse description The field is dominated by a four-line legend in relief. At the top, an open book inscribed ONE LAW rests upon a laurel wreath. In the lower portion of the field, the British Lion reclines beside a shield and anchor, flanked by sprays of shamrock to the left and oak to the right. The engraver's initial P.I. appears at the base.
