Obverse description The obverse field is filled with multi-line raised legends identifying George D. Dean as a numismatist and collector, spanning the years 1964 to 1984, with reference to Coles Book Arcade and the categories tokens, medals, and memorabilia. In the lower portion of the field, a stylised rainbow motif in low relief arches over the address inscription. The entire design is bordered by a beaded inner rim.

Reverse description The reverse features a detailed relief depiction of a palm tree with drooping fronds occupying the upper and central field, its trunk rising from a clump of grass at the base. Flanking the trunk in the lower field is a two-column motivational legend in raised lettering. The engraver's initials AJP appear in the exergue below the base of the tree. The design is bordered by a beaded inner rim.
