Reverse description The reverse depicts the Gemini 9A spacecraft in orbital descent attitude with astronaut Cernan performing an EVA tethered above the capsule's hull, while the Agena Target Vehicle is shown below in approach configuration; scattered four- and eight-pointed stars and a crescent moon fill the surrounding field. In the lower exergue, three Italian hallmarks are struck into the field: an oval 925 silver fineness mark, a lozenge-shaped Milan assay mark, and a small oval maker's mark of unidentified attribution. The circumferential legend describes the twin mission objectives along the upper portion, with the mission designation and flight dates arcing along the lower rim.
