Obverse description Bare-headed bust of King Frederik VI facing right in high relief, with short curly hair and a trimmed beard. The legend FREDERICUS VI appears along the left rim and REX DANIÆ along the right rim, with the engraver's signature F. C. KROHN F. in small lettering at the lower field.

Reverse description A standing female figure representing Denmark, classically draped and holding a long scepter in her left hand, presents a wreath medallion bearing the date 1836 to a seated veiled female figure representing Religion, who holds an open Bible on her lap. Two additional wreath medallions with the dates 1636 and 1736 are suspended above, commemorating three centuries of reform. The Danish coat of arms appears in relief at the lower right. The legend PIE MEMOR runs around the upper field, and a three-line inscription POST TRIA SÆCULA / D: XXX OCTOBR. / MDCCCXXXVI appears in the lower exergue.
