| Reverse description | Central design features a stepped pyramid set on a rocky ground, surmounted by a globe topped with a crowned royal monogram. Six lines of inscribed text appear on the faces of the pyramid recording the king's birth and death dates and reign. Three cypress trees flank each side of the pyramid, symbolizing mourning. The circular Latin legend MEMORIAE AETERNAE OPTIMI PRINCIPIS runs along the inner rim, and the word AETAT . 59 appears in the exergue below. |
