Obverse description Conjoined busts of Emperor Francis Joseph I and Empress Erzsébet (Elisabeth) in right profile, Francis Joseph in military uniform with epaulettes. The legend along the upper rim reads FERENC JOZSEF · 1848 · 1854 · 1916 · ERZSÉBET, with dates referencing his reign and marriage. The Holy Crown of Hungary appears in the lower left field, a small Hungarian coat-of-arms medallion in the lower right field, and the engraver's initials FM are visible in the right field.

Reverse description The central field displays the composite coat of arms of the Austro-Hungarian Empire surmounted by the Holy Crown of Hungary with a patriarchal cross. Flanking the central shield are two smaller heraldic shields. The legend M·E·E· and the year 2004 appear along the upper rim, while SZÉKESFEHÉRVÁR is inscribed along the lower rim.
