Obverse description A crowned female allegory of Frankfurt, holding a spear and resting beside a shield bearing a double-headed eagle, is seated on a plinth and gestures toward a fleet of warships at sea to the right. In the foreground, an anchor and a dolphin are visible, while a relief frieze on the plinth depicts several figures. The engraver's name LANGE appears in the lower exergue.
