Obverse description Right-facing bust of Maréchal Lyautey in high relief, wearing a military cape adorned with decorations including a cross. In the left field background, a minaret tower is depicted in low relief. Names of French colonial territories — ALGÉRIE, INDOCHINE, MADAGASCAR, SUD-ORANAIS, MOULOUYA, MAROC, FRANCE — are inscribed in the field to the left and right of the bust, along with the dates 1916–1917. The legend MARÉCHAL LYAUTEY appears in bold raised letters along the bottom of the plaquette. The engraver's signature RAYMOND DELAMARRE 1931 is visible at lower left.
