Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Wilhelm II wearing a spiked Pickelhaube helmet surmounted by a Prussian eagle in high relief. A circular legend surrounds the effigy, with the date 4. 8. 1914 at lower right. The engraver's signature appears along the lower rim.

Reverse description A vertically placed sword divides the field, with the date 1914 split to either side at the top. A five-line inscription in bold lettering fills both sides of the field. The engraver's name GRÜNTHAL appears in small letters along the lower rim.
