Obverse description Bust of Byzantine Emperor Heraclius in right profile, wearing an elaborate crown with radiating points, his long beard rendered in fine detail with his right hand raised to his chin. The effigy rests upon a crescent moon, with sunrays emanating diagonally from the upper right of the field. A bilingual legend in Greek and Latin runs around the circumference.

Reverse description Heraclius, crowned and enthroned in a two-wheeled carriage adorned with a cross, is drawn to the right by three horses led by an armored squire on foot. A bilingual inscription in Greek and Latin runs around the circumference, with additional Greek text in the field.
