Obverse description The obverse depicts in high relief a reproduction of a Quimbaya gold pendant (colgante) from Colombia, representing a stylized human face with almond-shaped eyes and geometric facial markings, surmounted by an elaborate arched headdress adorned with spiral ornaments, engraved hatching, small projecting elements, and circular disc pendants. Circular ear ornaments with twisted rope borders flank the face on either side. The field is plain and unlettered.

Reverse description The reverse features a concentric circular design in the center field, reproducing a pre-Columbian decorative motif with a central disc surrounded by a beaded ring and stylized scroll or volute elements. The legend runs around the inner border in two arcs, and the entire design is framed by a border of alternating upward- and downward-pointing triangles in relief.
