Reverse description The armorial bearings of the Borough of Newark displayed in the centre, comprising a shield with wavy bars and upper quarter bearing a fleur-de-lis, a roundel and a lion passant, supported by two beavers on either side, with a bird atop the crest. A ribbon below the shield bears BOROUGH OF NEWARK and the inscription ALDn B. TIDD PRATT J.P. MAYOR (7TH TIME) 1902. The surrounding legend reads IN COMMEMORATION OF THE CORONATION OF H.M. KING EDWARD VII.
