Reverse description A kneeling male figure holding aloft a flaming torch flanks a furled flag on the left, while a seated draped female figure holding a laurel branch faces him on the right before a second furled flag, both figures rendered in bold relief. A multi-line inscription from the 1916 Proclamation fills the upper field, with the date '24TH APRIL 1916' below it, the engraver's signature 'P. VINCZE' to the right, and the legend 'ÉIRE / 1916-1966' prominently displayed along the lower rim. Goldsmith's hallmarks are visible in the lower centre field.
