| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of William Harvey in low relief at the center of the field, with his name WILLIAM HARVEY flanking the effigy. The birth and death years 1578 and 1657 appear to either side of the bust. A curved legend ENTDECKER DES BLUTKREISLAUFES runs along the upper rim, and the date 1628 appears in the lower exergue, commemorating the publication year of his discovery. |
