| Obverse description | Central field displays the episcopal coat of arms of the Diocese of Portland, featuring a quartered shield with a cross, an eagle, and stars, surmounted by a bishop's galero with pendant tassels and flanked by ornate cordage. A scroll in the lower exergue bears the motto legend. The dates 1853 and 1928 appear in the lower field on either side of the shield. |
