Obverse description A Pilgrim figure standing in left profile surveys the ocean through a telescope, with a rising sun in the background and Savin Rock formation depicted to the right. The circumferential legend reads 'WEST HAVEN CONNECTICUT' at the top, with 'SETTLED 1648 INCORPORATED 1921' along the lower rim.
