Obverse description Large bust of Edouard Branly facing slightly right, wearing spectacles and a bow tie, in high relief. The name EDOUARD BRANLY is inscribed on either side of the field, with the birth and death dates 1844 and 1940 flanking the lower portion of the effigy. The engraver's signature CL. FRAISSE appears in small letters at the lower right of the bust.
