Reverse description The elaborate coat of arms of the Free Royal City of Karlovac in high relief, featuring an oval shield divided into three fields: upper left with the historical checkerboard seal of Croatia, upper right with two crossed anchors, and the lower half depicting a fortified cityscape between rivers with a sun and crescent in chief and a small inescutcheon bearing the initials of Emperor Joseph II. The shield is surmounted by a civic crown and supported on each side by a mermaid figure, their fish-tails curling at the base.
