| Obverse description | A large fasces in high relief dominates the centre of the field, overlaid upon two ships depicted in profile — a 19th-century steamship to the lower left and a modern ocean liner to the upper right — symbolising the centenary span of the shipping line. Roman numeral dates MCM XXXVI-XIV and MDCCC XXXVI appear in the field, flanking the fasces.
