Obverse description Central shield bearing the crowned Irish harp with a winged figure at the column, set within an oval frame decorated with shamrocks. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown, and the whole composition is enclosed within a Gothic trefoil quatrefoil border with shamrock motifs in the spandrels. A circular beaded border surrounds the design, with the peripheral legend running between the beaded border and the outer rim.
