Obverse description Facing confronted draped busts of King Christian VII, laureate, and Queen Caroline Mathilda, with pearl-adorned coiffure, in high relief against a plain field. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigies, with the engraver's signature inscribed at the base, all within a raised inner ring and broad flat rim.

Reverse description The allegorical figure of Aeternitas, draped in classical robes, stands in full relief upon a ground line, raising a globe surmounted by a radiant phoenix in her right hand. The curved legend ÆTERNITAS AVGVSTA arcs above in the upper field, while a four-line dedicatory Latin inscription in the exergue below records the birth of Crown Prince Frederick on 28 January 1768, with the engraver's initials DIA at lower left, all within a raised inner ring.
