Obverse description The field is divided into four circular medallions arranged in a quatrefoil pattern, each depicting a missionary region in relief: Africa (top, with a river scene and palm trees), India (left, with the Taj Mahal), China (right, with a junk and pagoda), and West Indies (bottom, with broken chains symbolising emancipation). An open Bible is shown at the centre where the medallions converge, with radiating lines filling the interstices. The names CAREY, FULLER, MARSHMAN, and WARD appear around the outer field, along with the regional and thematic legends within each medallion. A suspension hole is pierced at the top.
