Obverse description High-relief depiction of two suited astronauts seated aboard the Lunar Roving Vehicle on the rocky lunar surface, with the Command Module visible in the upper field against a star-studded sky. Lunar mountains and terrain features frame the composition, with footprints and rock formations rendered in the lower field. No legend is present on the obverse.

Reverse description The Apollo 15 mission logo occupies the upper portion of the field, comprising the stylized legend APOLLO 15 to the left and a graphic emblem of an astronaut figure with trajectory arc to the right. Below in the central field, the mission dates JULY 26th, AUG. 6th, and year 1971 are inscribed, followed by the names of the three crew members in large relief lettering. A counterstamped serial number 74 appears to the right, and the mint identification ITALY along with the Nebraska Numismatics (NN) distributor cartouche appear in the lower exergue.
